Below is a list of the most common questions however my advice is to download the demo version and try it first as this is the best way of knowing the answer, then if you think that the software is for you are welcome to buy it.
Thank you for your time.
How can I load the rest of the steps ie. step 10,11,...?
You must go through the steps in order clicking all "done" and "calculate" buttons. If you don't generate errors through the process you should see a small arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen to proceed to step 10.
P.S. don't load step 10 from the initial screen, (which has units set up).
I can't get through the first few steps I keep getting error messages?
Check all the the numbers you have entered, also make sure that you are clicking the buttons (done and calculate) in order. Sometimes it helps if you close the screen and re-open it again and this way you refresh the screen and the controls.
I bought your product and I don't know how to use it, do you publish a manual?
No, we don't publish manuals there is a simple help file included with the full and demo version of this software.
I recommend downloading the demo first to see if the software will serve your purpose before buying it as the demo will give you an outlook of what you expect to see in the full version.
I just purchased the shell and tube heat exchanger software over the net and it does not fully function. The step 1-9 and step 10- boxes are not functional, just the lower three calculator buttons. I am running windows 2000. How do I get the program to work?
The software should function properly on windows 2000 (NOT WINDOWS 2000 PROFESSIONAL), here what you should try,
1- select the English units then click on the "set button", this should activate the "Default" selection option.
2- click on steps 1-9 button
3- Enter problem specifications and physical properties...etc
4- you must click on all the "done" and "calculate" buttons in order.
** to test the software and understand how it works you can download any of the following test files:
for English units DOWNLOAD TEST FILE
(right click with your mouse and select "save as")
For SI Units DOWNLOAD TEST FILE
(right click with your mouse and select "save as")
You Can then load the test file to the software using the open file button "Folder Icon".
I downloaded the demo version of the software however the software doesn't seem to function properly steps 1-9 and steps 10- boxes do not function, if I purchase the full version will this be fixed?
No, In the demo version all steps should function, if they don't then I recommend not to purchase the full version as the same will happen, I suggest trying to download the demo again and install it and see if the problem is fixed, the software should function fine on Windows 98,ME,NT and XP. If you don't see this fuctioning through the demo then there is more likely that the software didn't install properly but don't buy the full version before you make sure that the demo version is functioning properly.
Your software only prints a summary screen. Can I print any of the steps screens?
Yes, this function is now supported in the new version of this software. If you are using version 1.2 then you should download the newer version of the software.
Does the software contain any physical properties database?
No, however the new version of this software contains an empty databases for you to add your own components and physical properties. As this will also allow you to load any component you added to the database to any of the shell or tube side.
I cannot open any of the detabases in version 1.3. I keep getting the message below:
713 - Class not registered.
Looking for object with CLSID:{59245250-7A2F-11D0-9482-00A0C91110ED}
I think that the problem is that your computer doesn't registered a specific file called msbind.dll
Here is the solution to your problem,
1) Open explorer and go to where our software will be installed, this will be something like:
C:\Program Files\webbusterz\S&T Hex\
folder, in this folder copy the file called msbind.dll
2) Open explorer again and then go to your system32 folder, this will be something like:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\
folder
3) Paste msbind.dll into the above folder (system32 folder)
4) click on "Start" in the toolbar
5) click on "Run"
6) type in
Regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\msbind.dll
7) a message should appear saying that the above file was registered succesfully
8) Restart the computer
9) Run the software
this should work, however please let us know how do you get on or if you have any problem.
