S&THex is a software tool that is made to demonstrate the basic chemical design calculations of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers.The software unlike other tools, ensures that the calculations are performed step by step to help in understanding the design calculations.
The software is easy to use and have the ability to calculate unknown shell/tube side temperatures by iteration method (solving by trial and error). Also can select from different correlations to calculate shell/tube heat transfer coefficient.S&THex can also calculate shell/tube sides pressure drops, inlet/outlet nozzles pressure drops and make recommendations (based on TEMA standards) on the minimum no. of rods, shell thickness and buffles diameter & thickness and much more. The software can use S.I units and English (U.S) units of measurements.
